It covers, amongst other issues, vocational training policy (including professional qualifications), the free movement of workers and pensioners, and discrimination in the workplace and labour market (except gender-based discrimination, which falls under the remit of the Women's Rights Committee).

In practical terms, this committee prioritises our actions to boost youth employment and entrepreneurship, foster an inclusive labour market and promote the mobility of workers.

We have made some significant steps forward. We fought to increase European funding for all youth-related policies, from combating youth unemployment to youth programmes (such as the EU Youth Guarantee and Erasmus+).

We consider investment in education and life-long learning essential priorities if we want to offer young Europeans better prospects and build a more dynamic, innovative and competitive economy and are actively working towards these goals.
