Careers

If you want to work for an ever-closer European Union, you should consider applying for a post in the EPP Group.

We recruit and develop dedicated and ambitious people committed to furthering the development of the European Union and to promoting political integration in Europe. Our job is to serve the Members of the EPP Group in the European Parliament (EP), the largest and most influential political group.

Our dedicated and highly competent staff support the work of MEPs, in line with both the Group and the EP’s agendas. We employ policy advisers and assistants with expert knowledge of the functioning of the EU and communicators who ensure the Group's message reaches both traditional and online channels, while our internal organisation colleagues (Human Resources, Finance and IT) provide us with the modern tools we need to work efficiently and effectively.

Our colleagues come from all EU Member States along with candidate countries. The roughly 300 permanent and contract employees working for the EPP Group are part of the European civil service.

Our staff comprises:

Temporary agents

The majority of our staff are temporary agents with contracts for an indeterminate period, recruited through a selection procedure that includes written and oral tests. We publish vacancies for these posts below.

Contract agents

The Group also has a number of contract agents. As a general rule, these colleagues are recruited from a reserve list established after detailed interviews in front of a Selection Committee. The maximum duration of their contract is six years.

Civil servants

Among its permanent staff are also a small number of civil servants of the EU institutions, primarily from the European Parliament, who have been posted to our Group.

Our Group Secretariat is a political administration that aims to achieve the highest professional standards. We welcome cultural diversity among our staff. We work in an international environment and nearly always in more than one language. We try to foster a climate of ownership and collaboration among colleagues. Staff are offered professional training to further their personal development.
