Food security and the long-term resilience of EU agriculture are top priorities for the EPP Group and for the Members of the Committee of Agriculture and Rural Development. We are working for a fair green deal that is ecologically, socially and economically sustainable.
The EPP Group is fighting for a stronger EU agricultural policy with adequate funding and new sustainable and efficient methods to safeguard local food production in Europe’s family farms and support young farmers to ensure the future of European food production. Building resilience for our food production is crucial now that the war Russia started in Ukraine has brought turbulence and uncertainty to the whole food chain.
In addition to its legislative work, the committee also monitors the implementation of the CAP and other issues in close cooperation with the Commission and the Council, along with other EU Institutions and stakeholders.
