Improving European knowledge and culture
Its remit is quite wide as it tackles issues related to audiovisual policy, the cultural and educational aspects of the information society, youth policy, and the development of sports and leisure policy and information and media policy.
The EPP Group wants to reinforce the main aim of the EU: to bring people together. Our DiscoverEU initiative, which launched in 2018, has already made a substantial investment in Europe’s future by giving a free ticket to 15,000 young people who turned 18 to allow them to discover our continent by train.
We also support all European Parliament projects aimed at improving European knowledge and culture, including the ‘Erasmus+’ programme for education, training, youth and sport; the ‘Creative Europe’ initiative, which supports Europe’s cultural and creative sectors; and the ‘Europe for Citizens’ programme.
