To make public health a European priority
We have consistently called for the creation of a European Health Union that brings true benefits to EU citizens. This Subcommittee helps us get closer to this goal.
We focus on strengthening EU health policies, shortage of medicines and medical devices, treatment and prevention of diseases, supply chain resilience and cross-border cooperation to better prepare the EU for future health crises.
It is also crucial to ensure European patients have access to affordable medicines and can move freely in the EU.
We also control the work of the European Medicines Agency and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
The Subcommittee deals with non-legislative files. The Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety remains responsible for examining legislative proposals and voting.
