Juncker sees difficult 2013, backs more flexible European Stability Mechanism
European Parliament's Economic and Monetary affairs Committee, predicting a tough 2013 ahead. Committee member Jean-Paul Gauzes, a fellow member of the EPP family, agrees courageous measures will need to be taken. Mr. Juncker also urges the European Stability Mechanism be able to retroactively recapitalise troubled banks, an issue of debate among policymakers.
