Building a sustainable Europe
The fight against climate change sits high on our agenda. In practical terms, we are promoting shared EU Member State efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including around land use, land use change and forestry. We are also focusing on driving the circular economy forward and revising waste legislation.
In addition to tackling environmental issues, we also deal with public health, promoting programmes and specific actions in the field of public health and with pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
Finally, the EPP Group committed to ensuring food is safe for European citizens. We fought for clear labelling and continue to advocate in favour of the safety of foodstuffs, veterinary legislation that protects against risks to human health and public health checks on foodstuffs and food production systems.
