The EPP Group called for a campaign to combat cancer entitled #EUCanBeatCancer. Through this campaign we advocated for enhanced European research collaboration, increased funding for cancer research, and equal access to high-quality care across the continent. The EPP Group presented a comprehensive plan to combat cancer, leading to the creation of a dedicated Cancer Committee. Apart from the creation of this Committee, our efforts also resulted in securing a €16 billion increase in funding for the long-term EU budget 2021-2027, strengthening flagship EU programs for research, health, and cancer prevention. We will continue to advocate for enhanced health powers in the EU, ensuring swift responses to future health crises. We also emphasise and continue to promote the need for secure network developments and infrastructures allowing us to work towards a united Health Union.
