Michał Boni elected vice-chair of EP delegation to Moldova
Important notice

Michał Boni was unanimously elected today, vice-chair of European Parliament’s delegation to the EU – Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
- We keep our fingers crossed for Moldova not to come down from pro-European course. The support given today by Parliament’s Foreign Affairs committee to the association between Moldova and EU Members States is a clear and explicit invitation for the preparations for the accession. The citizens of Moldova will democratically decide about their future on 30 November, on the Election Day. I hope that this choice will be a continuation of current ambitious European policy - declared Michał Boni after the meeting.
On the one hand through their activity, the delegations aim at maintaining and strengthening the contacts with the parliaments of the countries which are traditional EU partners. On the other hand they contribute to promoting, in third countries, the values underpinning the European Union, namely the principles of liberty, democracy, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms and the rule of law.
Moldova and the EU initialled the Association Agreement, including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, on November 29 at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius, Lithuania. It was signed in Brussels on June 27 and adopted today by European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee. The next step will be its adoption by all the Members of the Parliament's plenary session.
