Scottish Referendum: voters say YES to stability

Reacting to the results of the independence referendum that took place in Scotland yesterday, Manfred Weber MEP, Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, said: 

"The Scottish voters have shown their preference for stability, inside the UK and inside the EU. Stability is important to boost economic growth and job creation."

"Still, the number of citizens who expressed their aspiration to independence cannot be ignored. We call upon the British Government to keep in mind that a majority of Scottish people are pro-European and to deal with their own identity in a sensible way."
