EPP Group Hearing on Digital Omnibus: Simplifying European Digital Rules

This hearing, organised on behalf of MEPs Aura Salla and Oliver Schenk, will bring together Members of the European Parliament, policymakers, and industry representatives to discuss the Digital Omnibus, a key initiative to simplify and modernise the European Union’s digital rulebook. As businesses increasingly face overlapping requirements in the fields of data governance, privacy, and cybersecurity, the event will examine how the European Union can reduce regulatory fragmentation, ease compliance burdens, and create a more innovation-friendly framework that supports competitiveness and the development of artificial intelligence. Against this backdrop, the hearing will explore opportunities to streamline data legislation, modernise privacy rules for the AI era, and improve coherence in cybersecurity reporting, contributing to ongoing discussions on strengthening Europe’s Digital Single Market.
