Emissions trading reform to fight climate change
The European Parliament is set to give its final approval next month to a revamped Emissions Trading System. The EPP Group’s Ivo Belet, a member of the Environment Committee, says the ETS will sell carbon allowances in order to put a price on carbon and finance Europe’s drive towards a greener economy.
