Digitalisation for development: reducing inequalities through technology
Digitalisation is considered a strong driver of sustainable development and inclusive growth. Digital technologies are crucial for reducing poverty by increasing the competitiveness of the economy and creating employment opportunities. Whereas digitalisation is growing fast on a global level, Africa and Latin America continue to lag behind, losing the opportunity to fully utilise their human capital towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
