Born in 1974 in the town of Malmedy, Belgium, he represents the German-speaking community in Belgium. He graduated in Classical Philology at the University of Liège, in European Studies at RWTH Aachen, and in Law at the University of Louvain-la-Neuve, between 1996 and 2002.Mr Arimont worked as a Parliamentary Assistant in the European Parliament from 1998 to 2002. He completed internships at law firms in Brussels and Sankt Vith between 2002 and 2006. He is a lawyer and partner in the law firm Melotte, Veiders & Arimont. He was a Member of the Provincial Council of Liège between 2006 and 2009, and a Member of the Parliament of the German-speaking Community in Belgium between 2009 and 2014.He is Co-Chair of the Intergroup on Resilience, Disaster Management and Civil Protection. He is a Member of the Committee on Regional Development (REGI), the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI), and the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL). He is also a Member of the Delegation for relations with the United States (D-US).MEP since 2014.
