The European Parliament will host an event about Romanian traditions as a form of immaterial patrimony - Folkloric dance group MioritaThe countryside is the heart and soul of Romania, where peasant culture remains a strong force and medieval life prevails, as it does nowhere else in Europe.

The event will take place in the JAN 3Q area of the European Parliament

Traditions are the creation of the future with the roots in the past.History is not the past it is an artful of materials from the past. History verges upon the idea of tradition being the resource of which people create.Dances and popular dances are an immaterial form of patrimony.

The traditions of a country are being kept alive not only by art or books, but also through what is being sent from generation to generation. The countryside is the heart and environment of the dances and other traditions. This is where the dances develop in comparison with the region. It is through this event where we are trying to remind the people never to forget about their roots! We are trying to promote Romanian culture and values in the European Parliament, and at the same time, we want to give talented children from disadvantaged areas from Romania the chance to discover Brussels.
