EU Summit: Solidarity Pact needed to exit virus crisis

At this week’s video-summit, EU leaders should agree on a European Solidarity Pact for stronger action on a lockdown exit strategy and a strong recovery that gets Europeans back to work. Esteban González Pons, EPP Group Vice Chair, says the European Council should agree on a common exit strategy from the lockdown, with solidarity. He says the Council should adopt a coordinated medical response unit which could ensure adequate supplies and test kits as the lockdown eases. He calls on the Council to adopt the EPP Group’s proposal for a common health app for all Europeans, and for a Marshall Plan to jumpstart the economy to get Europeans back to work.
