Brexit, audio-visual, fighting crime and corruption
At its latest plenary session, the European Parliament debated Brexit talks with EPP Group Chairman Manfred Weber criticising UK plans to limit freedom of movement. Parliament approved legislation to protect Europeans of all ages from the excesses and abuses of audiovisual online content, as well as setting a 30% quota for European films on the Web. Parliament voted to upgrade the Eurojust agency to better aid and coordinate EU-wide crime-fighting efforts, and MEPs debated Romania’s moves to water down anti-corruption policies that have sparked protests at home.
