Ukrainian refugees one year on: escaping the horrors, hoping for European support

When Russian bombs began falling on Chernihiv in northern Ukraine last February, Olena and her family took cover in a basement. They fled as death and destruction grew closer. Today they live safely in Belgium, hoping they can someday return if Ukraine – with Europe’s help - can beat back the Russians.
