“Stop-the-clock”: EPP determined to put Europe on path to growth, innovation and jobs
Faced with a new reality of geopolitical instability and competitiveness, Europe urgently needs a game-changer to revive our economy and protect our jobs. At this crucial moment, we cannot afford to hold back. We need less bureaucracy and more growth to make Europe stronger and more prosperous. The EPP is leading the way by calling for joint action to accelerate the reduction of bureaucracy. Today's vote on the 'stop the clock' legislation is crucial.
"Let’s provide the clarity and breathing room required for EU businesses to grow and innovate. Let’s quickly begin work on real simplification measures that will boost Europe’s competitiveness for the long term," says Tomas Tobé MEP, EPP Group Vice-Chair in charge of the Omnibus Simplification Package.
"With global instability on the rise and European businesses falling behind, the EPP Group is committed to rallying a majority behind an ambitious policy for growth, innovation, and jobs,” stresses Tobé.
"Excessive bureaucracy is holding European businesses back. Today’s vote is a crucial first step, but we cannot stop here. I will keep fighting for real simplifications that allow businesses to grow, invest, and create jobs," says Jörgen Warborn MEP, the Parliament’s negotiator on the Omnibus Simplification Package.
