Combating violence against women: What is the EU doing?
In the weeks leading up to International Women's Day, the EPP Group hosted a series of events on gender equality. We discussed early gender stereotypes, the importance of women on executive boards and women entrepreneurs, amongst other topics. In this episode, we are discussing gender-based violence.
We talked to Frances Fitzgerald, a Member of the European Parliament, EPP Group Coordinator of the Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality and also a former Minister for Justice in Ireland; Irena Moozova, Director of the Equality & Citizenship Unit, DG JUST (European Commission); and Claire Fourçans, Policy & Campaigns Director at the European Women’s Lobby.
