Alain Lamassoure unanimously elected Chair of EP Special Committee on Tax Rulings

The European Parliament's Special Committee on Tax Rulings, established on 12 February, held its constitutive session on Thursday 26 February. Alain Lamassoure MEP was unanimously elected Chairman. Other Bureau Members are Bernd Lucke (ECR), Marisa Matias (GUE) and Eva Joly (Greens).

"We are on an important mission. We need results and we need them quickly. Revelations by the press of very contestable fiscal practices have created a political movement that we need to seize to make concrete proposals and put an end to these practices", said Lamassoure.

"The task ahead of us is not related to political orientation or the country we represent. We all share the same concern for more transparency and justice", he concluded.
