EPP Group Presidency on official visit to Mexico

This week, the EPP Group Presidency will be in Mexico on an official visit.

From Monday to Thursday, a delegation composed of EPP Group Chair Manfred Weber MEP and EPP Group Vice-Chairs Esteban González Pons, Sandra Kalniete, Esther de Lange and Tadeusz Zwiefka will hold a series of high-level meetings.

The EPP Group Presidency will be received by HE Enrique Peña Nieto, President of Mexico. They will meet with the Presidency of the Mexican Senate, with Foreign Affairs Minister Luis Videgaray Caso, Finance Minister José Antonio Meade Kuribreña, and with the EPP sister party President Ricardo Anaya Cortés, President of the National Action Party (PAN).

They will also meet with representatives of civil society and the private sector and will participate in a number of public events. Discussions will focus on the strengthening of the EU-Mexican relationship and trade relations. "When others are building walls, we Europeans want to build bridges across the Atlantic, talk about partnership and how to deal with our common challenges", said Manfred Weber MEP.
