The European Parliament has rejected a bid to outlaw phosphates in frozen kebab meat, pending a study in 2018 by the European Food Safety Agency.

The EPP Group’s Renate Sommer argued that banning phosphates in kebabs was unjustified, since the food additive is used in other foods as well.
