Monica Macovei MEP is to meet with the Executive Director of the European Environment Agency to have a frank discussion on conflicts of interest and public procurement after visiting more Agencies and Joint Undertakings in the last month.

"As Rapporteur for the 2010 discharge of the Agencies and Joint Undertakings, I believe it is crucial to establish a direct dialogue with the Agencies and Joint Undertakings, to clearly present our expectations and our concerns, to listen to what they have to say and to have a frank discussion on what needs to be done", stated Monica Macovei, EPP Group MEP.

On Thursday 1 March 2012, Monica Macovei MEP will meet Jacqueline McGlade, Executive Director of the European Environment Agency (EEA) in Brussels. During the meeting they will discuss the critical issues that have been raised in the draft report on the discharge of the EEA for the financial year 2010.

The meeting with Executive Director McGlade is one of many that Monica Macovei MEP has conducted with the Agencies and Joint Undertakings since she has been appointed Rapporteur of the European Parliament for their respective discharges. She has already met with the Executive Director of the European Aviation Safety Agency as well as the Executive Director of the Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer Joint Undertaking. Monica Macovei also visited some of the 24 Agencies, including the European Global Navigation Satellite System Agency (Brussels, Belgium), the European Medicines Agency (London, UK) and the European Food Safety Authority (Parma, Italy).
