Croatian Referendum: Yes strengthens Croatia and Europe.
"The Croatian Yes vote in favour of membership of the European Union strengthens Europe and strengthens Croatia. We welcome the clear message of the Croatian people that they want to take part in the common efforts to develop a free and open Europe," commented the Chairman of the European Parliament's Joint Parliamentary Committee for Croatia, Gunnar Hökmark MEP, Vice-Chairman of the EPP Group. "Croatian membership will enhance the possibilities for the European Union to contribute to a stable and prosperous development in the Western Balkans, providing all citizens with the same opportunities as all other Europeans within the European Union."
