Algeria: we condemn the attack against the international community.
Commenting on the hostage crisis at a gas facility in the Algerian desert, the Chairman of the EPP Group, Joseph Daul, said: "On behalf of the EPP Group, our thoughts are with the families and victims of the innocent persons who have so tragically lost their lives in Algeria. And for those struggling for their lives and freedom, we hope that they will be saved as soon as possible. This is a cowardly attack against innocent people from all over the world. The only aim is to frighten us into stopping our fight against terrorism. Our response is very clear: we will never give up defending our citizens and fighting terrorism. Terrorism is an attack on all of us, an attack on the very fabric of our democratic society. It can never be justified. Together with our international partners, we must always stand united in the fight against terrorism of all kinds. Terror campaigns will never succeed to change our values. Europe is united in its fight against terrorism of all kinds and everywhere."
