'We congratulate Kyriakos Mitsotakis on his election as Leader of the Nea Dimokratia Party. This election is very positive news for the Party and for Greece. Kyriakos Mitsotakis is a reformer and pro-European. He supports policies that Greece urgently needs right now. Furthermore, he has stated that he would stand “against the populism of an ineffective government”. The EPP Group will support all his efforts which guarantee, in accordance with recent agreements, the European course and the economic recovery of the country".
