Born in 1971. Grand Est, France. Graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) (1992). Postgraduate diploma in international relations from Sciences Po Paris (1993). Civil servant (civilian) in the French Defence Ministry. Adviser to the French Embassy in Sarajevo (1995-1998). Head of the DGSE’s Balkan affairs department (1998-2000). Adviser to the Director General of the DGSE. First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of France to the United Nations in Geneva (2002-2004). Adviser to the High Representative for FSCP (Kosovo) (2004-2005). Adviser to the Minister for Foreign Affairs (2005-2007). Lecturer at Sciences Po Paris(2006-2009). UMP candidate in the French general elections in 2007 (Saône-et-Loire). Regional Councillor in the Regional Council of Burgundy since 2010. UMP National Secretary in charge of European Defence Policy since 2011. Knight of the National Order of Merit (2000). MEP since 2009.
