Born in 1949. Ile de France, France. Marielle Gallo is postgraduate in general private law, Paris I (1977). She is practising as lawyer in Paris since October 1978.Marielle is also known under the name of Gallet as author of novels.In 2007, she joined the Modern Left Party, the left-wing ally of President Nicolas Sarkozy.In the 2009 European elections, she was candidate on the Union for a Popular Movement list in the Ile-de-France region and was elected to the European Parliament.Marielle Gallo is a member of the Legal Affairs committee and has been Chair of the working group on Copyright of the European Parliament.She set up in November 2011 a new plateform, the IP Forum.She was the rapporteur of the initiative "On enforcement of intellectual property rights in the internal market" which was adopted on September 21, 2010. MEP since 2009.
