Tajani candidate for EP President, visa emergency brake, energy, railways
At the European Parliament’s latest plenary, the EPP Group chose Italian MEP Antonio Tajani as its candidate for Parliament President. MEPs approved an ‘emergency brake’ for visas, allowing talks on visa-free travel to proceed with Georgia and Ukraine. And Parliament debated measures for the EU Energy Union and took a step further towards better, faster and cheaper railway services in Europe.
