Turning the EU into an economic powerhouse

The EU must act now to stay competitive.

While other global powers race ahead, excessive red tape continues to strangle our businesses, energy prices remain sky-high, and our start-ups lack access to the capital needed to scale up. It’s time for the EU to get back on track.

In a nutshell:

Slash bureaucracy.
Complete the Single Market to make Europe truly competitive.
Invest at least 3% of GDP in R&D.
Build a Capital Markets Union for business growth.
Cut energy prices and ensure clean, affordable power.

The EPP Group has long been calling for a game-changer. Now that we have it – the Competitiveness Compass – we need to be ambitious to tackle the challenges ahead.
