The European Parliament has voted for tougher sanctions against the Venezuelan regime as it prepares for early presidential elections seen as a sham. President Nicolás Maduro is running for re-election, after his bloody crackdown on the pro-democracy opposition. The suffering of the people must end, says the EPP Group’s José Ignacio Salafranca, who helped draft the Parliament Resolution.
