Romania: EPP Group congratulates new President on his election

Manfred Weber, the Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, today warmly congratulated Klaus Iohannis on his victory in the Romanian Presidential elections.

“This result is great news for Romanian democracy and for the Romanian people. Romanian voters have chosen the path of responsibility and reforms, to prepare their country for the future. By going to vote in extremely difficult conditions, they set a great example for democracy. Their determination and their aspiration for change must be rewarded," Manfred Weber said.

"I would like to wish the new President good luck. He can count on the EPP Group's support to tackle the challenges ahead,” Manfred Weber concluded.
