Press conference on pesticides: Don't jeopardise food production in Europe

The EPP Group will not support laws that impede farmers' ability to produce food or reduce overall food production. The EPP Group wants fewer pesticides on our plates. However, reducing pesticides without the availability of suitable alternatives must not make food more expensive, must not reduce food production in Europe and must not lead to farmers quitting their businesses.

Ahead of the vote on the draft law aimed at reducing plant protection products in the Parliament's Environment Committee on Tuesday, 24 October, the EPP Group will explain its position in a press conference on Monday at 14.00 in the Anna Politkovskaya press room in the European Parliament in Brussels.
