Ireland in the EU: 49 years later

Europe is going through a process of deciding what it wants to be, both as a political movement and as a functioning body supporting EU citizens. At this EPP Group's event, we took a look at how the discussions here in Brussels are affecting citizens of the European Union, and what it all means for Ireland.

Five Irish Members of our Group joined us in the studio - Deirdre Clune; Frances Fitzgerald; Maria Walsh; Sean Kelly; Colm Markey; as well as Leo Varadkar, Tánaiste and Leader of Fine Gael, who joined remotely; and Tommie Gorman, former Northern Ireland editor for RTE.

We also discussed the future generation of EU citizens. And for this topic we had a message from Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and we were also joined by Mark McNulty, Youth Representative of the National Youth Council of Ireland.
