Nature Restoration Law: The reasons why Commissioner Timmermans should withdraw it without delay

In Europe, farmers, fishers, and forestry workers are the first to care about protecting nature and biodiversity and maintaining the vitality of our rural communities.

Therefore, it's time to stop strangling them with nonsensical new regulations every year. Instead, we must work hand in hand for a successful green transition that leaves no one behind.

Two Parliamentary Committees have already rejected the #NatureRestoration Law proposed by Commissioner Frans Timmermans. The reasons are simple: the proposal lacks a proper impact assessment that explains the consequences on the ground for rural communities, consumers, and the roll-out of renewable energies.

Our MEPs Christine SCHNEIDER, Esther DE LANGE, Siegfried MUREŞAN, Anne SANDER, Herbert DORFMANN and Niclas HERBST explain why Timmermans should withdraw this bill without delay.
