Future of Europe - future-minded budget - circular economy

At its latest plenary session, the European Parliament debated the latest EU Summit that focused on the future of Europe. Council President Donald Tusk noted unity among the leaders on building a stronger EU, and EPP Group Chairman Manfred Weber welcomed Tusk’s re-election. The plenary also approved a report, whose Rapporteur is the EPP Group’s Siegfried Mureşan, calling on the European Commission to boost 2018 funding for youth, innovation, job creation and security. And it approved legislation setting targets to slash landfill use and boost recycling, including of rare materials Europe would otherwise have to import. The Group’s Karl-Heinz Florenz was Shadow Rapporteur.
