EPP Group Presidency Meeting in Athens: Focus on economic recovery in Greece and the EU

Greece's progress in combating the economic crisis and the EU's efforts for economic recovery will be the main topics of the meeting of the EPP Group Presidency and Heads of National Delegations which will take place in Athens on 7 and 8 March 2013. Delegates will hold an extensive briefing on the political and economic reforms which are underway in Greece. They will also discuss the security of the EU's external borders, the European Neighbourhood Policy, and relations with the East.

The Chairman of the EPP Group, Joseph Daul, Head of the Greek Delegation of the EPP Group, Marietta Giannakou, and the Secretary-General of the Nea Demokratia Parliamentary Group, Athanassios Bouras, will welcome the EPP Group Members. The Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras will present the results of the efforts of the Greek government and people in overcoming the severe economic crisis. The first session of the meeting will be open to the press and will be followed by a press conference.

Greek Ministers and high-ranked EU officials will attend and address the gathering.
