The Week ahead
"We should communicate to China in very clear language that any military support for Putin will have dire consequences for Sino-EU relations and trade, but we must nevertheless continue our dialogue to stop the ongoing war", says Radosław Sikorski MEP, author of the EPP Group Position Paper on China and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, ahead of the EU-China Summit scheduled for 1 April. "EU-China dialogue must also look at solving other pressing global issues, such as the looming economic crisis, climate change, and addressing the threat of a broader conflict in the Indo-Pacific and beyond", Sikorski stresses.

On Monday, the Home Affairs Ministers of EU Member States will meet in Brussels to discuss European coordination for the reception of people fleeing the war in Ukraine. The meeting will focus on support for Member States, coordination of travel within the EU, external border control and the reception of refugees from the Republic of Moldova. The EPP Group stands with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people fleeing Putin's bombs. We support those Member States hosting and taking care of refugees, carrying out border controls and registration. Showing unity and solidarity in the face of this crisis will show that the European Union is capable of finding agreements in the field of asylum and migration.
