Pedro López de Pablo was born in Madrid in 1965. He has a Master of Arts degree in History and Geography from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master degree in European Studies from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. His relationship with Europe started in Strasbourg where he worked at the Council of Europe in 1989. He worked as a journalist for several Spanish media for more than a decade and was the EU correspondent of the Spanish news wire 'Agencia EFE' for 12 years. He joined the EPP Group Press Directorate in 2001 and has been in charge of the Planning and Communication Strategy for the past five years. He has been the Head of the EPP Group Press and Communications Directorate since 1 September 2012.
