Born in 1967. Warmia i Mazury, Podlasie region. Medical University of Gdansk, 1986-93. Chairman of the Gdansk Foundation for European Integration, 1993-2001. President of the Polish Youth Card Association, 2001. Member of the Polish Parliament, 2005–2007, re-elected in 2007. President of the National Committee of NZS (Independent Student Association), 1991-1993. Chairman of Gdansk Board and member of the National Council of Kongres Liberalno-Demokratyczny (Liberal Democratic Congress), 1993. Secretary of the Regional Board of Unia Wolności (Union of Freedom), 1997-2000. Member of the National Council for European Integration by Prime Minister of Poland, 1997-2005. Deputy to the Secretary General of PO, 2003–2004. Deputy Chairman of Regional Board of PO in Gdansk, 2006. Member of the presidential election team of Donald Tusk, 2005. Chairman of Sejm Foreign Affairs Comitee, 2007-2009. MEP since 2009.
