Sweden's 2023 EU Presidency: How to move things forward?

What did Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson mean by a "greener, safer, freer" EU when outlining his goals whilst presiding over the European Council in the first half of 2023? EPP Group MEPs Tomas Tobé, Anna-Michelle Asimakapoulou and Paulo Rangel give their take on the tasks ahead. These include the war in Ukraine, the rising cost of living, jobs, migration, the green transition, trade, making Europe more competitive and critical raw materials, among others. All these issues need close cooperation between the Council and the European Parliament.
