Are women safe in Europe?

Gender-based violence figures are appalling across the continent, but even one female victim is already too much for the EU. Together with MEPs Frances Fitzgerald and Nathalie Colin-Oesterlé, we visited shelters for women and children housing victims of gender-based violence in Dublin (Ireland) and Strasbourg (France).

We wanted to hear about their realities and how the first-ever EU law on Combating Violence Against Women could help them.
