EPP Group meets in Split to debate 2024 European Elections priorities

Roberta Metsola and Mariya Gabriel

The 2024 European Elections campaign is at the top of the agenda at an EPP Group gathering in Split, Croatia, this week.

“Our Study Days are the last big EPP family get-together before the European Elections to discuss the priorities for the rest of the mandate and the European campaign. Of course, we are especially happy to be welcomed by Prime Minister Plenković who has made Croatia a European success story”, EPP Group Chairman Manfred Weber MEP, said. As well as PM Plenković, attendees include European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola and other leading EPP figures.

“We need a Europe that matters to people and brings them together, that protects and shapes our common future”, said Weber in Split.

Besides preparation for the elections in 2024, issues like agriculture and the future of rural areas are also on the agenda. Innovation, jobs infrastructure and a fair Europe are also items of discussion as well as European security, AI and enlargement.
