The Week ahead
The traditional ways of terrorism and radicalisation have now developed online. Therefore, our legislation should adapt to today’s realities and make sure we have the necessary tools to fight online terrorist content. On Thursday, the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee will vote on this new legislation which, amongst others, makes reference to when authorities should act to remove terrorist content from online platforms. We believe that platforms should act within one hour of receiving a notice by the competent authorities.
