Fighting stalking: the need for a common EU law and quicker action

The European Parliament has debated a new European Commission proposal on stalking. The practice has victimised millions of mainly women across the EU. Lara Comi, a Vice-Chair of the EPP Group and herself a victim of stalking, is calling for EU legislation to accelerate and push for tougher measures against stalking. She wants all Member States to adopt the Istanbul Convention against gender-based violence, and to press the seven Member States that do not yet have anti-stalking laws to adopt them without delay.
