“Africa is the continent of the future for Europe. Only together with our African partners will we be able to solve the refugee crisis. This is why we need a partnership approach and a comprehensive action plan to help African countries address the challenges they are facing today”, said Manfred Weber MEP, Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, on the outcome of the EU-Africa Summit in Valletta.

“We welcome the decisions and the action plan adopted today. They should now be swiftly implemented.  Yet, cooperation cannot be a one-way street. African countries must show their willingness to help. For the EPP Group, EU development aid to African countries must be linked to cooperation in the return of migrants who are not granted asylum”, Manfred Weber concluded.
