EPP Group & EUI live event: Book Launch: The European Ambition

EPP Group & EUI live event: Book Launch: The European Ambition

We would be delighted if you could join us, the EPP Group and the European University Institute, Florence, on Thursday 18 March at 14:00-16:00 CET for an online book presentation:

The European Ambition

The Group of the European People's Party and European Integration

This book traces the EPP Group's institutional, organisational and political trajectory in the European Parliament, focusing on the period after the first direct elections in 1979.  In doing so, it sheds light on the functioning of Parliamentary party groups, while at the same time creating the conditions for a better understanding of their role in the process of European integration and in the EU's political system.

Based on an inter-disciplinary approach between history, political science, European studies and political sociology, this book is the outcome of a research project launched by the EPP Group, coordinated at the European University Institute, involving scholars with diverse academic backgrounds from several EU countries.

Confirmed speakers include: Renaud Dehousse, President of the EUI; Dieter Schlenker, Director of the Historical Archives of the European Union; Luciano Bardi, Project Coordinator; Carine Germond, Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Ariadna Ripoll Servent, Professor at the University of Salzburg, Manfred Weber, Chairman of the EPP Group; Paulo Rangel, Vice-Chair of the EPP Group, Martin Kamp, former Secretary-General of the EPP Group and Johan Ryngaert, former Director of the EPP Group Presidency Directorate.
