“Political responsibility for this institutional chaos falls squarely on the shoulders of Minister Edward Scicluna” - David Casa
Partit Nazzjonalista Head of Delegation, MEP David Casa stated:
“We have a situation now where the FIAU has been exposed as a government mouthpiece more interested in concealing incriminating evidence on corrupt politicians than investigating money laundering. But now the MFSA is also being investigated by the European Banking Authority in view of the fact that Pilatus Bank and Nexia BT continue to hold a licenses to operate in Malta, and as a consequence, to operate in the European Union.
This was inevitable. The evidence on Pilatus Bank and Nexia BT’s involvement in criminal activity is considerable and largely in the public domain. That those responsible have not as yet been brought to justice is appalling. That they continue to hold licenses to operate in Malta is infuriating.
Pilatus Bank and Nexia BT are the architects and executors of Keith Schembri and Konrad Mizzi’s corrupt undertaking. This is well-documented. The evidence is incontrovertible.
I can understand that Minister Scicluna must be under immense pressure from his cabinet colleagues. However, he is showing that he is incapable of resisting this pressure. He is demonstrating that he is incapable of ensuring the institutions for which he is responsible are functioning as they should."
