"Common challenges require common solutions - MEP David Casa meets Cyprus’ President of Democratic Rally

“As small islands in southern Europe, Malta and Cyprus share common challenges which require common solutions. Both countries have always had good political relationships and this kind of cooperation should continue in the years ahead.”

Member of the European Parliament David Casa said this during a meeting with Cyprus’ President of Democratic Rally Averof Neofytou, which was held at the European Parliament in Brussels. Mr Neofytou has been the President of the governing party in Cyprus for the past six years.

During the meeting, Mr Neofytou thanked Mr Casa for the great cooperation he has always had with the Democratic Rally, including its Members of the European Parliament. “The Democratic Rally has always had a good relationship with Partit Nazzjonalista, and will continue to work hand-in-hand to make sure that the challenges which our people face in their daily lives, are addressed not only at a national level, but also at a European level.”

Both Mr Casa and Mr Neofytou discussed current political issues such as Brexit, accessibility challenges faced by small islands, immigration, as well as social issues."
